In the next decade, a large part of the rural population of Bolivia will be adults and seniors. The imminent process of metropolization confirms and deepens that reality. Systematically, fields are emptying, expelling its most valuable capital, young men and women. Between 1950 and 2012 the rural population of Bolivia decreased from 74% to 33% (INE, 2015). In the same period, urban population grew from 26% to 67%. At the national level, 25% are young, but rural youth stands for only 14% of the country's youth.Read more
Vietnam was dissatisfied with the development of cooperatives along the lines of the socialist model and has changed course over the last few years. It has turned its eyes to the Netherlands. A sizeable delegation with unprecedented media attention from Vietnam will therefore be arriving in the Netherlands on Wednesday, 28 March. On the 13th March 2018, Manuel Nogales was appointed as the new Managing Director of the Spanish agri-agency Acodea. His career at Acodea began almost four years ago, with a study tour on Peruvian cooperatives together with Agriterra’s business advisor Bas Prins. Soon Acodea will also have two offices abroad soon, building on a strong AgriPool network.
